JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is looking to fill a Punchlist Coordinator role, a secondment role for one of our operating clients. The role is to be based in Basra, Iraq (Local National role) on 14/14 rotation. He will be responsible for overseeing the punch list process during construction projects and the primary role will be to ensure the timely completion and resolution of punch list items, coordinating between various stakeholders and monitoring progress to ensure quality standards are met before project handover.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Punchlist Coordinator to join our Iraq Business Unit.

This Project aims to take over the existing asset and maximize the production in 2 phases. This is a fast-track project and schedule-oriented Design to enhance the production.

The Phase 1 will restore, upgrade, and develop the current plant (CPF1) including: Restoration of initial CPF1 capacity; building a new export pipeline (24", ~30km); restoration of CPF1 integrity and operability; flaring elimination and released water; development of new flowlines, pads, and electrification network for approximately 30 new wells; debottlenecking of the plant; upgrade of the Safety and Security facilities.

Our scope is to provide Engineering, Procurement services and Construction assistance (EPsCa) for the initial development phase of the field in Southern Iraq. The scope of services includes FEED, detailed design, procurement support, and construction and commissioning assistance.

He will be responsible for overseeing the punch list process during construction projects and the primary role will be to ensure the timely completion and resolution of punch list items, coordinating between various stakeholders and monitoring progress to ensure quality standards are met before project handover.

Responsibilities:
  • Punch List Management: Coordinate the creation, tracking, and management of the punch list, which includes identifying incomplete or deficient work, discrepancies, and outstanding issues requiring resolution.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Act as the central point of contact between project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders regarding punch list items. Facilitate effective communication to ensure clear understanding of expectations and responsibilities.
  • Inspection and Evaluation: Conduct thorough inspections of completed work to identify deficiencies, non-compliance with specifications, or deviations from the project plans. Document and categorize punch list items for further action.
  • Prioritization and Scheduling: Assess the severity and impact of punch list items and prioritize them based on their significance and effect on project completion. Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure timely resolution of items.
  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate with the responsible parties, such as contractors and subcontractors, to address and resolve punch list items. Coordinate any necessary rework or corrective actions to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of punch list items, their status, and actions taken for resolution. Generate reports and documentation to track progress, identify trends, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all punch list items are addressed in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. Verify that work meets the required level of quality before project handover.
  • Closeout Process: Coordinate the verification and sign-off process for completed punch list items. Ensure that all parties involved confirm the satisfactory resolution of items before final project acceptance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in punch list management and resolution. Recommend best practices and implement lessons learned from previous projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or specialized training in construction quality control and project management are advantageous.
  • Previous experience in construction project coordination, quality control, or a related role involving punch list management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project specifications, and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify deficiencies and non-compliance with project requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple punch list items.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities to assess issues and propose effective resolutions.
  • Proficiency in using software tools or systems for punch list management and documentation.
  • Familiarity with construction industry standards, codes, and regulations related to quality control and project closeout.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment.
