We are currently seeking a Lead Solution Architect Engineering Applications , reporting directly to Enterprise Architect Director to join our Digital for Operational Excellence team based in Nanterre, Paris, France.

About the role:

Overview :

The Lead Solution Architect Engineering Applications is providing dedicated digital support for the Engineering functions, within T.EN, ensuring alignment between enterprise architecture principles, business architecture and product delivery.

This role acts as a bridge between business needs and digital platforms, defining solutions architecture and driving coherence, innovation, and operational efficiency within the product's lifecycle.

This role involves participating to products Framing phase and Design Phase, supporting the Execution Phase and delivering documentation during the whole product lifecycle, especially Product Architecture Reference Document, architecture reviews and finally promoting any action which can help reducing the T.EN technical debt.

Key Responsibilities :

Business and Technology Alignment

• Engage with Business Owners and Product Leads to understand product business requirements and priorities, ensure alignment between business goals and Digiteam architecture principles.

• Translate business needs into a solution design that fits within TEN's enterprise architecture framework (Business Architecture).

• Engage Business Teams in the Business Architecture Processes.

• Act as a consultant to guide business transformation initiatives and ensure architecture decisions enable business agility and innovation.

• Participate to Make or Buy Decisions when required.

• Assist Business in identification of Information dependencies when defining Product Business Architecture, especially with other domains.

• Describe Products Business Capabilities and Business Services using Enterprise Architecture standards.

• Participate to Application rationalization on the Domain he/she is working on.

• Create and Maintain Products Conceptual Data Model aligned with Enterprise Data Model.

• Is accountable and responsible to keep a Products system dependency up to date.

• Ensure consistency between Enterprise data catalog and Functional Requirements .

• Ensure Data Continuity of the products delivered in the context of the Digital Acceleration Plan Program.

• Manage a team of 4, ensuring day-to-day management, coaching and technical competencies development, as well as evaluation.

Solution Architecture Design and Delivery

• Define and maintain the current and future state solution architecture of the assigned product.

• Engage discussion with Business Stakeholders including Engineering Product Owners, Engineering Tools Administrators and Engineering Subject Matter Experts.

• Discuss Solutions in details with Products Stakeholders (Business and IT) on Key business capabilities like Calculation and Simulation, Modeling Automation, Document Management, Material Management.

• Design Products solution architecture with standards approved technical applications.

• Use Solution Building Blocks and standards technical designs to accelerate solution definitions.

• Work closely with data architecture teams to define data exchanges patterns fitting the business requirements. Follow Data sharing protocols.

• Support agile delivery by guiding development teams in implementing scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions.

• Is accountable of technical architecture alignment with solution architecture.

• Is accountable of Product description in the CMDB.
• Ensure traceability of applications Business or Solution changes.

• Foster collaboration between business, developers, data teams, and platform teams to maintain delivery flow.

Solution Architect Standards activities

• Coordinate with solution architect(s) working on the same domain.

• Report and forecast activities and manage its workload.

• Communicate with Platforms teams to follow upcoming services.

• Participate in the solution architecture community.

• Initiate peer forum to share architecture guidance.

• Use the tooling provided to Solution Architects.

• Ensure Applications performance by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks across domains applications.

• Propose refactoring scenario on obsolete applications.

• Avoid data duplication and costly Data Storage.

• Ensure all the applications portfolio is up to date with last Cyber Security requirements.

Innovation

• Engage with platform leaders to propose new technologies when existing technologies portfolio is limited.

• Assist Business Product Owner on Proof Of Value or Prototypes when requested.

• Propose new technologies based on value delivered.

• Promote AI when it makes sense.

• Identify and mitigate common architecture decision making pitfalls that undermine time to market and quality.

About you:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 15+ years of experience in IT and 3+ years of experience in Architecture.

• At least 5 years of experience in team management.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Ability to keep a mid-term / long term mindset while keeping pragmatism .

• Experience in enterprise business process management.
• Experience with engineering applications, such as Aveva, Hysys, etc.

• Architecture skill validated by a certification (TOGAF is a plus).

• Proven experience in Business Service, building blocks and solution design.

• Capacity to participate to Make or Buy analysis.

• Proven experience in Cloud, especially on Azure Technologies.

• Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in architecture.

• Knowledge of emerging data & AI technologies and trends, and a passion for staying UpToDate with the latest developments in the field.

• Good facilitation skills and capacity to coordinate diverse stakeholders across business and digital functions.

• Understanding of backlog management, user story refinement, and value driven delivery.

• Experience collaborating with Product Owners to drive product increments aligned with architecture standards.

Engineering Domain

• Knowledge of engineering work processes, technologies and tools within the process, simulation, calculation, design, modeling, document and data exchange tools capabilities is nice to have
