About the Role
Technip Energies is seeking an experienced Fabrication Manager (Structural Steel) to support delivery of the Net Zero Teesside Power Project, a key UK energy transition development. The role will be responsible for the management and expediting of a structural steel fabrication subcontractor, ensuring fabrication, scheduling, quality, and delivery align with project requirements and construction needs.
This role will be primarily yard/factory based at our subcontractor facilities in Bury (North West) and Scarborough (North East) with strong interface management across the home office, fabrication yard, and construction site. The successful candidate will need to split time between locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide fabrication management oversight for the subcontracted structural steel fabricator.
- Act as Technip Energies primary point of contact with the fabrication subcontractor.
- Manage vendor/subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Apply strong mechanical/structural steel expertise to support fabrication execution, sequencing, and issue resolution.
- Maintain a clear understanding of commercial vendor management, supporting cost control, change management, and progress measurement.
- Perform yard/factory-based vendor expediting, including regular presence at the fabrication facility to monitor progress and resolve issues.
- Coordinate and manage interfaces between:
- Home office engineering
- Structural steel fabricator
- Construction and site teams
- Lead weekly progress meetings with the fabricator, engineering, and construction teams.
- Prepare and issue weekly progress reports to the project and package management team.
- Support priority management during steel fabrication, responding to changes in site demand and construction sequencing.
- Coordinate and optimise fabrication and delivery schedules to meet construction milestones.
- Actively manage risks to fabrication and supply timelines.
- Secure the on-time delivery of structural steel to site to support construction activities.
- Ensure fabrication activities comply with project HSSE standards and quality requirements.
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong background in mechanical and/or structural steel fabrication within major projects.
- Proven experience in vendor and subcontractor management, ideally across large EPC, energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience of steel fabrication yards/factories and expediting activities.
- Solid understanding of commercial aspects of vendor management, including schedule, progress, and change.
- Excellent interface and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams across engineering, fabrication, and construction.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Comfortable working in a site- and yard-based environment.
- Experience on power, energy transition, or heavy industrial projects preferred.
