Weatherford has a great opportunity for a Manufacturing Buyer to join the Team in Ortona, Italy on a Fixed Term Contract basis to cover maternity leave.
The Manufacturing Buyer will support the sourcing and purchasing of technical goods and services, ensuring they meet quality specifications and business requirements. The Manufacturing Buyer will support the sourcing and purchasing of technical goods and services, ensuring they meet quality specifications and business requirements. Expertise in technical specifications and supplier evaluation is essential for maintaining an efficient supply chain and supporting successful customer fulfillment.
Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
- Uphold company's HSE policies, compliance standards, and Rules to Live By while prioritizing quality, health, safety, and environmental protection.
Technical Procurement
- Develop comprehensive understanding of technical specifications for products/services.
- Raise purchase requisitions for Manufacturing.
- Source parts/services to required specifications.
- Utilize competitive bidding to target best quality, delivery, and total cost.
Purchase Order Management
- Create and communicate valid POs to Manufacturing team and suppliers.
- Monitor delivery dates and manage change requirements.
- Act as liaison between suppliers and Source to Pay functions.
Supplier Relations
- Participate in supplier reviews and develop relationships with key strategic suppliers.
- Report and follow up on supplier non-conformances.
- Support supplier base rationalization.
Communication
- Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and provide visibility on potential supply interruptions.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or bachelor's degree.
- Two years of experience in manufacturing industry, preferably within Oil and Gas.
- Good English language skills - written and spoken.
- One to two years of experience with various manufacturing methods.
- Commercial awareness and excellent technical skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing products/materials/components.
- Attention to detail and mathematical knowledge.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
- English language proficiency certificate.
- Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
- Advanced computer skills.
