JOB SUMMARY
The Training and Competency Specialist is responsible for executing, maintaining and continuously improving the training and competency management system across FGS. This role ensures approved operational, quality and engineering requirements are translated into structured training pathways, validated competency criteria, and measurable workforce readiness outcomes. The position serves as the system owner for training and competency infrastructure, data integrity, analytics, and deployment, driving consistency, auditability and operational readiness across all facilities, while operating within the governance and direction established by the Director of Training and Competency. The role works closely with facility managers, Quality Managers, Engineering, and technical trainers to enable a scalable, auditable and data-driven training and competency program.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Align the Training and Competency team with operational and quality requirements in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a global training and competency program.
- Develop and maintain role-based training pathways across manufacturing, inspection and operational roles.
- Build and maintain organization, and maintenance of the competency program.
- Administer and continuously approve training systems and repositories, including LMS platforms, digital knowledge bases and other various tools.
- Design and maintain competency validation tools such as assessments, qualification checklists, and tracking systems.
- Monitor and manage training completion, validation status, and ongoing competency engagement across facilities and roles.
- Execute periodic validation and re-certification processes in coordination with Quality and Facility Managers.
- Develop, publish and maintain training and competency dashboards to provide visibility into workforce readiness, certification status, and competency risk.
- Analyze training and competency data to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with various groups, facilities and subject matter experts to ensure training systems accurately reflect technical training and quality requirements.
- Drive global rollout and adoption of training and competency processes while enabling controlled local execution.
- Execute continuous improvement activities related to training systems, competency management, and data quality.
- Ensure training and competency systems remain audit-ready and aligned with ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2, and other industry-specific regulatory and customer requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Organizational Development, Engineering, Quality, or a related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in coordination, systems, analytics, or related roles.
- Experience supporting structured learning programs in manufacturing, operations, or industrial environments preferred.
- Exposure to LMS platforms, training systems, or digital knowledge management tools
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Understanding of training and competency principles within quality or operational environments.
- Ability to organize and structure complex information into scalable systems and frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret training and competency data.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools, familiar with LMS platforms, SharePoint, Power Bi, or similar.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, quality, engineering, and divisional leadership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to support global operations and collaborate across time zones as needed.
