We are looking for an experienced Process Safety Manager with a strong background in the Oil & Gas/Energy sector to act as the local technical authority for Process Safety and provide strategic and hands‑on support to assets, projects, and leadership teams in a highly regulated and high‑risk operational environment

Function Description

This role combines technical leadership, strategic oversight, and operational execution, ensuring that process safety risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed throughout the asset and project lifecycle. The Process Safety Manager plays a critical role in safeguarding people, assets, and the environment while supporting operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

As Process Safety Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Define and lead the Process Safety Management strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, HSES frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the Process Safety Technical Authority, providing expert direction and governance across assets and projects.
• Ensure identification, assessment, and mitigation of major accident risks through key process safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, MAHPP).
• Own safety-in-design and Safety Case delivery, ensuring compliance with international standards and lifecycle integrity.
• Safeguard asset integrity and barrier health, overseeing critical elements such as mechanical integrity, functional safety, and critical control systems.
• Lead assurance activities related to Major Accident Events, audits, PSSR, commissioning, and operational readiness.
• Drive learning and continuous improvement by leading or overseeing process safety incidents, investigations, and lessons learned.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• University degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with at least 5 years in technical/process safety roles.
• Previous experience as Process Safety Manager, Project Safety Manager, or Lead Technical Safety Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of process safety methodologies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, Bowtie, SIS).
• Expertise in onshore and/or offshore facilities, asset development, and operations.
• Solid understanding of international safety standards and regulations.
• Experience with technical safety software (e.g., PHAST, FLACS, QRA tools).
• Ability to operate effectively in multicultural and cross-functional environments.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
