JOB DESCRIPTION
- PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for organizing, planning, coordinating and staffing the Fabrication department
- Team building, Training and development of all Fabrication shop personnel
- Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all department personnel
- Manage the Fabrication department in a cost-effective manner by sound buying practices and efficient production planning.
- Responsible for maintaining the necessary tools, equipment and supplies to fulfill all of XL Systems welding requirements.
- Review in conjunction with Welding Engineering, all welding procedures and specifications.
- Assist and recommend in the area of equipment acquisition, upgrading and the refinement of welding processes.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of the Fabrication shops
- Responsible for and the authority to generate non-compliance reports, corrective action and/or preventative actions in accordance with the appropriate operating procedure(s).
- Responsible for and the authority to maintain and promote a safe working environment in accordance with the appropriate HSE procedure(s).
- Comply with all NOV Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental polices & procedures
- Ensure compliance of the company's overall objectives
- Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- 5 years experience in production/Fabricating and/or manufacturing environment
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Oilfield equipment manufacturing fundamentals/knowledge and experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of Lean Tools and methodologies preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Comprehensive knowledge of welding and Heat-treating processes
- Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills; customer service driven
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels
- Team building
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Must be able to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting.
