Your Role and Responsibilities
We are now looking for a new Quality Specialist to join our team at ABB Oy, Smart Power in Vaasa. As a Quality Specialist you will be responsible for developing processes through the whole supply chain from the supplier to customer. Your main role is to act as an active and co-operative driver inside the manufacturing factory ensuring continuous quality development. In this position, you will be working cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, and operations, playing a key role in the quality processes of the world's leading automated low-voltage switch factory.
Please note that to best support our supplier collaboration, this position includes travel (approximately 30 days annually).

Additionally, you will be accountable for:
- Controlling and continuously developing quality in specific production lines
- Perform supplier audits to verify compliance with internal/external requirements
- Taking responsibility for technical reclamations in specific product groups utilizing AI
- Providing quality training to local teams, enabling them to define and document processes that are efficient and controlled
- Monitoring and reporting supplier quality KPIs and targets, creating official customer reports as well as handling root cause analysis (RCA) for supplier quality issues
- Developing and verifying corrective and preventative action plans (CAPA) while driving continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers (Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA)
Qualifications for the Role
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- Knowledge and/or experience from different manufacturing technologies and willingness to learn
- Experience from an industrial manufacturing company
- A proactive and systematic way of working
- Attention to details and quality-focused mindset
- Good presentation, influencing and communication skills
- Fluency in English and Finnish, both written and spoken
- Lean Six Sigma certification is considered a strong benefit
