PROCURMENT/ SOURCING SPECIALIST

Are you motivated by making an impact early in the sales process and contributing directly to winning projects?

As a Procurement Specialist in ABB Marine & Ports, you will play a key role at the intersection of Sales, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and our supplier network. You will be closely involved from the sales phase, helping shape competitive, high-quality proposals that turn customer opportunities into successful projects.

In this role, you will actively engage suppliers, drive competitive sourcing strategies, and negotiate commercial terms, always with a strong focus on collaboration, transparency, and compliance. You will be part of a global organization where your contribution truly matters, and where teamwork and trust are key to success.

Your responsibilities

• Partner closely with the Sales team during the bidding phase to strengthen proposals through competitive sourcing, supplier engagement, and commercial negotiations
• Drive supplier competition and ensure detailed and transparent comparison of offers to secure the best overall value
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, enabling constructive dialogue and long-term collaboration
• Ensure supplier offers meet project, contractual, quality, delivery, sustainability, and commercial requirements
• Actively manage and develop the supplier base, qualifying new suppliers when needed to support business growth
• Responsible for handover from Sales to project execution from an SCM perspective and contribute in supplier kick-off meetings
• Monitor and follow up on supplier performance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring commitments are met
• Ensure all sourcing activities are fully aligned with ABB policies, standards, and sustainability requirements

Your background

• Several years of experience in the technology or manufacturing industry working as a buyer, or in other SCM roles.
• A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a strong drive to deliver results
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to support negotiations and cross-functional teamwork.
• Ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural organization
• Experience working with international suppliers and global sourcing activities
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, with knowledge of electrical equipment.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken; additional language skills are a plus
