Short Description

An Able Seaman on a Cable Installation Vessel supports deck and cable‑laying operations, assists with crane and equipment handling, performs mooring and watchkeeping duties, and ensures safe, efficient deck activities during offshore cable installation projects.

Function Description

• Assist with deck preparations and equipment handling during cable‑laying operations.
• Support crane operations and safely handle lifting gear and deck tools.
• Manage mooring lines during arrival, departure, and vessel positioning.
• Stand deck watch as instructed by the officer on duty.
• Perform routine deck maintenance such as cleaning, chipping, painting, and basic repairs.
• Follow all safety procedures, participate in toolbox talks, and join emergency drill

Requirements

Requirements for the job:

• UK Frontier Worker Permit holder (UK FWP);
• BOSIET, HUET, CA-EBS;
• CoC Able Seafarer Deck (STCW II/5)
• STCW Basic Safety training (SOLAS);
• STCW Security Awareness training (A-VI/6-1);
• GWO Sea Survival training;
• Passport, Seaman's book.
