Job Description
Senior ETO for Dredger
Responsibilities
To oversee operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all electrical, electronic, and automation systems onboard the dredger.
To ensure continuous availability and reliability of critical dredging equipment, including cutter heads, dredge pumps, winches, and propulsion control systems.
To manage high-voltage systems, PLCs, SCADA, and power distribution networks in compliance with safety and class requirements.
To supervise and guide junior electrical staff and ensure effective implementation of planned maintenance systems (PMS).
To perform advanced fault diagnosis and rectification of complex electrical and control systems to minimize operational downtime.
To coordinate closely with the Chief Engineer and Master to support efficient dredging operations and project timelines.
To ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, company policies, and HSE standards, especially during high-risk operations.
To maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, spares inventory, and system performance logs.
To support dry dock activities, including planning, inspection, upgrades, and commissioning of electrical systems.
To handle variable frequency drives (VFDs), automation systems, and dredging-specific instrumentation effectively.
To demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving capability, and adaptability in offshore and demanding environments.
To apply prior experience on cutter suction dredgers (CSD) or trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHD) to enhance operational performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical & Electronics.
STCW certification & ETO license.
5-10 Years experience on Dredger.
