This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow our robotics business by expanding into the Service Robotics. Leveraging our broad portfolio of products and cutting-edge technology, Service Robotics is focused on bringing the benefits of automation to customers in healthcare, life sciences, foodservice and retail point-of-sale-enhancing precision, throughput, and efficiency.
You will have the opportunity to execute technical assignments focused on robotic vision and perception systems. Each day, you will design, develop, and deploy vision-based solutions to enable reliable detection, inspection, and guidance for robotic applications. You will deliver high-quality solutions in line with agreed timelines and standards, using established tools and continuously improving methodologies. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting the development of vision-related solutions, technical capabilities, and services, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and performance.
In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Design, develop, program, and commission vision-guided robotic systems using ABB robots, including RAPID programming and full system integration.
- Integrate, configure, calibrate, and optimize industrial vision systems for inspection and robot guidance applications.
- Lead and contribute to technical discussions, reviews, and decision-making, working independently to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Support system validation, testing, commissioning, and customer acceptance activities, including on-site installation and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate and provide technical support to ensure timely resolution of issues across development and production phases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to R&D, standardization, continuous improvement, and technical documentation in line with company standards.

Qualifications for the Role
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Vision, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of experience with industrial robots and robotic cell integration (e.g., ABB, FANUC, KUKA), with familiarity in robot programming (such as RAPID or similar languages) as a plus.
- Solid hands-on experience with industrial computer vision systems, including platforms such as MVTec HALCON, Cognex, Keyence, Mech-Mind, or other equivalent 2D/3D vision solutions.
- Experience in vision-guided robotics applications (e.g., inspection, pick & place, guidance, measurement), ideally including 3D vision and bin-picking applications.
- Good understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., PROFINET, EtherNet/IP) and strong ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), with availability for occasional travel and on-site commissioning activities.
