We are seeking experienced IRATA Level I and II Alpinist Painters for offshore projects in Mexico and the USA. The role focuses on painting, maintenance, and corrosion protection in the oil & gas sector.
Function Description
This position is ideal for skilled offshore professionals with experience in industrial painting and rope access. The role involves performing inspection, maintenance, and repair activities on offshore vessels, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in corrosion protection work.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Apply anti-corrosion coatings on offshore equipment and structures.
- Execute preventive and corrective painting works.
- Identify corrosion issues and apply appropriate treatment techniques.
- Prepare surfaces for coating using mechanical or chemical methods.
- Apply paint systems using spray equipment (airless, conventional, gravity feed).
- Perform paint mixing and preparation (single- and multi-component coatings).
- Complete daily reports, timesheets, and safety documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Support and execute rescue plans when required.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Comply with all procedures and offshore operational standards.
Requirements
- IRATA Level I or II certification (mandatory).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of offshore experience.
- Proven experience in offshore painting and corrosion control.
- Knowledge of surface preparation tools (grinders, scalers, etc.).
- Experience with marine coating application and repair.
Certifications and Documents:
- Valid Seaman's Book.
- Offshore safety certifications (BOSIET / T-BOSIET, RIGPASS, CBSP).
- Work at Heights & Confined Space certifications.
- OGUK Medical Fitness Certificate.
- Valid passport (US visa is an advantage).
- Industrial painting certification (preferred).
