Activities

Reporting functionally to the Business Excellence Manager and locally to the General Manager Trading Operations & Logistics Asia, with a secondary reporting line to the General Manager Business Excellence, this role sits at the heart of our global Trading & Shipping transformation journey.

As a senior member of the Global T&S Business Excellence team, you will lead excellence and change management across our worldwide Trading (90 FTE) and Operations (230 FTE) communities, covering physical business of barges, vessels, trucks, and more. You will promote the best use of our existing systems tools and answer to the new business needs in terms of systems and AI to enhance performance across all physical trading activities. This is a visible and influential role partnering closely with senior leaders, traders, operators, and IT counterparts to drive impactful improvements across our trading ecosystem.

Role Objectives

  • Ensure T&S Front Office and Operations teams benefit from well-adapted, efficient, and future-ready IT tools.
  • Lead excellence and change management initiatives that strengthen operational performance and support evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Representation
  • Act as the lead ambassador for Business Excellence in Singapore, championing a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Serve as the primary bridge between Front Office, Operations, and IT, ensuring business priorities are clearly translated into robust system and process outcomes.

Business Analysis & Process Optimization
  • Partner with Traders, Operators, and Management to identify opportunities to optimize trading tools and operational workflows.
  • Consolidate, structure, and interpret business needs into actionable development initiatives for internal and external IT partners.
  • Balance standardization and customization to ensure scalable yet business-relevant solutions.
  • Proactively identify efficiency gains and process improvements within Medissys (ETRM) and related applications.

Project & Change Management
  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end delivery of business and technical projects with IT teams, business stakeholders, and third-party providers.
  • Oversee and organize functional testing activities, ensuring high-quality solutions aligned with user expectations.
  • Ensure strong user-centricity throughout the change lifecycle, from design to deployment.
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor adoption, usage, performance, and impact of Business Excellence initiatives.

Capability Building & Best Practices
  • Identify, develop, and disseminate best practices across Trading and Operations communities.
  • Design and deliver training on newly developed functionalities and optimal use of existing tools.
  • Continuously enhance Medissys parameters and referential data in collaboration with global teams.
  • Act as a change champion on the Trading floor, nurturing alignment, ownership, and a shared sense of purpose across teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment
  • Build strong partnerships with Front Office, Operations, IT, and internal support functions (Credit, Demurrage, Legal, Middle Office, etc.).
  • Promote transversal alignment on system and process topics across all T&S entities.
  • Provide transparent and regular reporting to management on project progress, change deployment, and adoption.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience
  • Master's degree with 5-8 years of experience in the oil trading industry, demonstrating strong knowledge of physical trading flows and trading systems;
    OR 3-5 years of experience within TotalEnergies with strong familiarity with T&S activities, systems, and stakeholders.
  • A strong command of Medissys is preferred but not mandatory (ETRM)
  • Proven experience in project management and/or change management is a significant advantage.

Technical & Digital Competencies
  • Strong IT acumen, including familiarity with Power platform tools and generative AI.
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize complex business needs into pragmatic, scalable solutions.

Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement abilities, with the maturity to navigate diverse teams and perspectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to anticipate next steps and drive operational delivery.
  • Creative, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to build alignment and consensus across multifunctional, multicultural environments.
  • Outstanding communication skills in English, with confidence interfacing up to senior leadership.
