We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Supervisor to join our team on a major infrastructure project. This is a site-based role with a leading contractor, focused on maintaining high safety standards across all phases of construction. This role is based in the Durham area and is on an initial 12 month contract outside IR35

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Supervisor to join our team on a major infrastructure project. This is a site-based role with a leading contractor, focused on maintaining high safety standards across all phases of construction. This role is based in the Durham area and is on an initial 12 month contract outside IR35
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a safe and productive work environment
- Support the HSE Lead with oversight across multiple work fronts (ISBL and OSBL)
- Advise project teams on HSE procedures, CDM regulations, and compliance with UK legislation
- Deliver project inductions and HSE training sessions
- Participate in project HSE meetings and contribute to strategic planning
- Conduct site inspections, audits, contractor reviews, and incident investigations
- Liaise with clients and regulatory bodies to resolve HSE-related issues
- Review contractor permit applications, risk assessments, and method statements
- Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant degree or professional certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH)
- Proven experience in UK construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced site environment
