Job Description

TRS are seeking a reliable and proactive Construction Operative - Site Logistics & Traffic Coordination to support a live 3CR construction project in Royston.
This is a key site-based role responsible for managing the safe and efficient flow of traffic, materials, and personnel at the site entrance and surrounding areas. While not a traditional engineering role, the position plays a critical function in maintaining operational continuity, site safety, and logistical efficiency.

Responsibilities

Site Logistics Coordination

• Support day-to-day site logistics operations
• Ensure smooth movement of vehicles, plant, and personnel
• Act as a key point of contact at the site entranceTraffic Management Support
• Control and direct incoming and outgoing site traffic
• Coordinate delivery schedules and vehicle access
• Assist with implementation of traffic management plans

Parking Management

• Oversee on-site and adjacent parking arrangements
• Ensure compliance with site parking rules and capacity limits
• Prevent congestion and maintain safe access routes

Material Delivery Supervision

• Receive and manage deliveries at the gate
• Verify delivery documentation and direct vehicles appropriately
• Liaise with site teams to ensure efficient offloading

Waste Control Support

• Assist with coordination of waste collection and disposal
• Monitor waste movements and ensure compliance with site processes
• Maintain organised and accessible waste handling areas

Desirable Experience.

• Previous experience working on a construction site in a similar role (e.g. traffic marshal, gate operative, logistics operative, site security)
• Traffic Management / Traffic Marshal (Banksman) certification
• Strong awareness of health & safety practices
• Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with drivers, contractors, and site teams
• Proactive and organised, with good situational awareness
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, live construction environment
• Experience in site logistics or construction coordination roles
• Background in site-based security with logistics exposure
