Job Objective
- Responsible for piping material engineering activities for various projects. This role involves ensuring the selection, specification, and procurement of piping materials meet project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
- Responsible Planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of Piping Material Engineering Team on the assigned project including scope, budget, deliverables, schedule, coordination of activities in consultation with Discipline Manager and Project Engineering Manager
- Responsible for Review of engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities, specifications, procedures, etc. produced with in the piping discipline
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
- Lead the development of piping layouts for process units, utilities, and offsite areas
- Prepare and review plot plans, equipment layouts, piping general arrangement (GA) drawings, and isometrics
- Develop 3D models using tools such as AVEVA E3D, PDMS, or SmartPlant 3D (SP3D)
- Ensure piping routing adheres to safety, accessibility, maintainability, and operability requirements
- Apply relevant international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO)
Project Execution
- Participate in project phases including FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC support
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines
- Support constructability reviews, model reviews, and design audits
- Ensure timely delivery of piping deliverables in line with project schedules
Technical Leadership
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
- Review and approve design deliverables produced by the team
- Resolve complex layout and routing issues, including clash detection and optimization.
Interface & Coordination
- Interface with clients (e.g., ADNOC), licensors, and vendors.
- Review vendor drawings and integrate equipment requirements into layouts
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and model review sessions.
Construction & Site Support
- Provide technical support during construction, fabrication, and installation phases
- Address site queries (RFIs) and support as-built documentation
- Assist in troubleshooting layout-related issues during execution
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
- Minimum of 5 years proven capability as a Senior Piping layout Engineer role in engineering design company
- Piping Layout and/or Materials knowledge will be preferred
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of piping engineering design and analysis
- Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards
- Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for piping engineering design and selection, including 3D model-based design
- Experience with Concept Selection and FEED studies
