Principal Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of key roads and civil infrastructure projects while helping strengthen our project delivery capability across the business.
This is a senior delivery leadership role with real influence-both on major projects and on how we continue to uplift our project management maturity.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of medium to complex Roads projects (Level 2 & 3) while also playing a key role in improving delivery discipline and consistency across smaller projects.
Working closely with sector leadership, commercial teams and technical specialists, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially, and in line with KBR's governance frameworks.

Principal Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of key roads and civil infrastructure projects while helping strengthen our project delivery capability across the business.

The Opportunity
You will take ownership of medium to complex Roads projects (Level 2 & 3) while also playing a key role in improving delivery discipline and consistency across smaller projects.
Working closely with sector leadership, commercial teams and technical specialists, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially, and in line with KBR's governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery Leadership
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Roads projects, with accountability for scope, schedule, cost, quality and client outcomes
- Develop and manage robust project execution plans
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Proactively manage risks, issues and interfaces
Commercial, Governance & Risk
- Apply governance and risk management frameworks across all projects
- Manage forecasting, EAC, and overall financial performance
- Maintain strong commercial control and minimise project risk exposure
Design & Construct (D&C) Delivery
- Lead projects within contractor-led and D&C environments
- Act as the key interface with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors
- Navigate complex commercial and delivery interfaces to protect project outcomes
Capability Building
- Mentor and uplift PM capability across Roads & Civil teams
- Improve consistency and confidence in Level 1 project delivery
- Share best practices and strengthen project management standards
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted client relationships and manage expectations
- Support positive project outcomes through proactive communication
About You
You're an experienced Project Manager with a strong track record delivering roads infrastructure in complex environments.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management or related discipline
- Proven experience delivering Roads projects in D&C or contractor-led environments
- Demonstrated success managing medium to complex infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of Australian transport governance frameworks
Desirable
- Chartered (CPEng) or equivalent / formal PM certification
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors
- Track record mentoring or developing project teams
