Job Overview

The Senior Application Engineer - MPD is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, execution, and optimization of MPD operations across project phases. The role provides technical and operational support to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery, while working closely with customers, rig teams, field personnel, and internal stakeholders.

This position contributes to engineering readiness, field execution support, stakeholder coordination, reporting, and continuous improvement, with focus on operational performance, risk control, and adherence to company and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Technical & Engineering
  • Support development of MPD operational programs, procedures, and engineering documentation
  • Provide technical input for system readiness, rig integration, and operational planning
  • Review technical reports, project documentation, and engineering deliverables
  • Support performance review, lessons learned, and technical improvement initiatives

Operations Support
  • Provide day-to-day support to project execution by maintaining communication with field teams, tracking operational status, and supporting timely response to issues affecting delivery.
  • Participate in project meetings, operational calls, and customer updates as required
  • Support daily reporting, issue follow-up, and escalation management
  • Coordinate with operations, logistics, and support teams to maintain execution continuity
  • Provide support for mobilization readiness, material movement, and field requirements

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Work closely with customers, field personnel, engineering teams, and third-party contractors
  • Support coordination across technical, operational, and commercial interfaces
  • Contribute to management reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement activities
  • Assist with technical communication and alignment across internal and external stakeholders

HSE & Compliance
  • Ensure all activities are performed in line with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable HSE and regulatory expectations, while supporting safe planning, execution, and risk control.
  • Promote hazard identification, risk assessment, and procedural compliance
  • Support incident prevention, environmental protection, and corrective action follow-up
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture across office, workshop, and field activities

Reporting Line & Work Environment

The Senior Application Engineer MPD typically works across office, workshop, and field environments and is expected to engage directly with customers, internal support functions, and operations teams. The role may require participation in operational reviews, travel to project locations, and availability to support critical project activities during execution phases.

This role is critical to ensuring disciplined project execution, safe operational delivery, and strong customer confidence across complex MPD and drilling support projects.

Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate should have relevant MPD, drilling, or oilfield service experience, combined with strong coordination, technical support, reporting, and stakeholder engagement capability in demanding operational environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related technical discipline preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of MPD field experience in a supervisor role
  • Minimum 3 years of office-based experience in project management, engineering support, planning, or operations support
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, logistics, cost control, service delivery, and customer management
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in high-pressure operational environments
  • Strong communication, reporting, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Residential/ live-in position
