The Airworthiness team promotes regulatory compliance and safety at Avio Aero. As experts in regulatory and compliance processes, the Airworthiness team navigates the regulatory landscape from Design Organizations processes set-up, initial engine certification through the entire engine product life cycle. A Avio Aero Airworthiness Engineer serves as a focal for assigned engine product line as a subject matter expert in airworthiness and certification, leads interactions with the agency in the Continued Airworthiness of fielded engine fleets, and is a liaison to European Union Aviation Safety Agency and other Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs).

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities
  • Represent Avio Aero when interfacing with EASA or CAAs on Engineering, continued operational safety, and certification issues, as required by Chief of Airworthiness Function
  • Monitor and communicate regulatory issues and significant developments on engine programs related to engagement with EASA or CAAs
  • Lead Avio Aero new DOA assigned processes/sub-processes definition and validation phases, with a focus on exception management for any military application
  • Implement adequate approved organizations interface process between Military and Civil DO, applicable for assigned military application projects
  • Coordinate adequate procedures and interface between approved Design Organization and Production Organization for assigned military application projects
  • Define and implement efficient processes for Avio Aero Design Organizations in compliance with PART 21 Subpart J
  • Define, develop, and improve business processes related to certification to improve quality and productivity within Airworthiness and Certification
  • Utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals
  • Execute with some guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to other personnel assigned to support the effort on assigned projects and/or tasks
  • Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures


Qualifications/Requirements
  • Engineering Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience as Nominated Manager in a civil or Military Design Organization
  • Consolidated experience in an airworthiness role
  • Consolidated experience in aerospace industry, particularly in a Type Certificate Holder DOA
  • Experience in aircraft military operations
  • Demonstrated leadership in communicating business goals, program, and process challenges
  • Italian and English fluent knowledge
  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
