Join our Team and advance your career as a Senior Data Scientist

A Senior Data Scientist applies scientific methods, statistical techniques, algorithms and engineering practices to develop data science and machine learning solutions that generate business value. This role combines hands-on data science, model development and technical implementation, helping turn data into actionable insight and scalable products.

You will work with large and complex data sets, support the design and development of machine learning and analytical solutions, and help translate business problems into practical data science use cases.

The role will involve close collaboration with data scientists, software engineers and business partners to build reliable, reusable and maintainable solutions. Alongside machine learning engineering responsibilities, you will also contribute to data analysis and insight generation, ensuring.

In this role You will:

• Be part of a cross-disciplinary team, working closely with data scientists, data engineers, data managers and business partners
• Support the design, development and deployment of scalable, reusable and impactful data science and machine learning solutions
• Carry out data analysis to generate actionable business insights and support data-driven decision-making
• Contribute to the design and implementation of statistical and machine learning models in collaboration with more senior data scientists and engineers
• Help translate business problems into technical approaches, contributing to project delivery and seeing opportunities where data science or machine learning can contribute
• Produce well-structured, maintainable and well-documented code and technical artefacts
• Adhere to and advocate for engineering and data science standard processes, including technical design, code review, testing, monitoring, alerting and documentation
• Support the scalability, efficiency and maintainability of machine learning systems
• Present findings and outputs to peers and partners were appropriate
• Stay up to date with developments in machine learning, AI and analytics, and apply relevant approaches when useful
• Contribute to improving developer speed, reuse and team ways of working
• Support and learn from more senior team members, while also contributing to team knowledge sharing

What You will need to be successful:

• Master or equivalent experience in a quantitative field
• Hands-on experience designing, prototyping, building, maintaining and documenting reliable and scalable data science or machine learning solutions in complex environments
• Applied knowledge of data science and machine learning tools and approaches across the data lifecycle
• Good understanding of the mathematical foundations of statistics and machine learning
• Development experience in one or more object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Go, Java or C++
• Experience carrying out data analysis and translating findings into actionable insights
• Customer-centric and pragmatic attitude, with a focus on value delivery and swift execution while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong communication and partner management skills
• Continuous learning and improving mentality

Desired:

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive or Spark
• Knowledge of experimental design and analysis
• Advanced SQL knowledge
• PhD or equivalent experience in quantitative field
• Prior energy industry experience is not required
