While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, stand, bend, stoop, or reach with hand and arms. Occasionally required to kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is required to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and have corrected vision to 20/20. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often exposed to moving vehicles, overhead cranes, extreme ambient temperatures, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particulates. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy. The employee is required to wear appropriate PPE to include but not exclusively limited to hard hat, face mask, gloves, and steel toed boots.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily performs any combination of the following task:
- Core making - forming the internal surface of a casting
- Mold making - forming the external surface of a casting
- Mold closing - joins the core to the mold; joins the mold halves
- Sand testing - uses the equipment to take sand samples and test them for use.
- Melting - prepares molten metal from scrap steel and/or raw materials; adjust chemistry; adjust temperature
- Pouring - forms a casting by transferring molten metal into the mold cavity
- Shakeout - removes core and mold sand form surface of casting; reclaims the sand
- Casting Cleaning - removes gates, risers, fins, and other protrusions from surface of casting; repair inclusions on surface of casting; abrasive blasting of casting surfaces; inspection of casting surfaces
- Provide direct support and assistance to the Foundry Supervisor.
- Coordinate daily workflow of the department and supervise group in the absence of the Foundry Supervisor
- Assist in production planning
- Provides schedule and updates to the planning department
- Perform other work-related tasks as necessary.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years' experience in 2 or more of the following: pattern shop/storage; core making; molding making; mold closing; induction melting; pouring; shakeout; abrasive blasting; gating & riser removal; grinding; casting inspection and touch-up
- 1+ years' experience operating forklift; overhead crane; frontend loader
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- General knowledge of industrial applications in a manufacturing setting
- General knowledge of safety rules and regulations demonstrated ability to work with others
