Project Engineer (Mechanical/piping) duties and responsibilities
• Determine project specifications and acquire the necessary materials for completion.
• Develop scope and parameters for project design and implementation. (If requested)
• Identify project responsibilities, delegating phases and elements to the appropriate
personnel.
• Develop (If requested) and control the full project-plan lifecycle.
• Conduct regular meetings with contractor to ensure clarification and meet specific
requirements in a timely manner.
• Delegate tasks to team members according to their individual skill sets, experience and
abilities to ensure efficient completion of the project.
• Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals.
• Document and report project progress (daily, weekly and monthly) to Project manager and
stakeholders.
• Maximize project efficiency and profitability.
• Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the ongoing projects.
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards
and specifications.
• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s
performance) and report regularly on project status.
• Assign responsibilities and mentor project team.
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants
to provide assistance and technical support.
• Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions, if any.
Project Engineer skills and qualifications
• Proven working experience as a Project Engineer
• Organization and problem-solving skills
• Ability to use specialized software for collaboration and time management, including
spreadsheets.
• Good knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
• Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications.
Ability to read and understand technical documents and symbols and to apply this
knowledge.
• Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
• Project management and supervision skills.
• Decision making ability and leadership skills.
• BS degree in Engineering or relevant field.
• Experience with inventory control and process improvement.

• 5+ years project management, project engineering, or project planning experience
(scope, schedule, cost, quality).
• Strong field management experience.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
• Assist the construction manager to establish project objectives, procedures, data collection
methods, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
• Prepare scheduled and necessary updates of construction activities and analysis of
manpower and equipment required.
• Create and administer appropriate testing protocols to monitor project performance.
• Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes
and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
• Maintain budgetary, scheduling, and project database oversight, and report regularly to
project manager to keep him constantly informed of job progress, plans and problems that
could significantly affect costs or schedules.
• Manage compliance, quality control, and quality assurance standards and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong working knowledge of design software, including AutoCAD and basic knowledge
CAD/CAM Circuit Design.
• Proven understanding of compliance and quality assurance guidelines and best practices.
• Previous experience with database design and development.
