JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Civil Supervisor, the successful candidates will be responsible for safely operating multiple Heavy Equipment machinery while maintaining high safety and operational standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Operate multiple types of machinery including but not limited to:
  1. Excavators
  2. Loaders
  3. Bulldozers
  4. Graders
  5. Rollers
  6. Dump Trucks
  7. Forklifts and Telehandlers (where licensed)
  8. ADTs
  9. Skidsteer
  • Conduct pre-start inspections and complete daily equipment checklists.
  • Identify and report mechanical faults, defects, or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Follow instructions from the Civil Supervisor and work collaboratively with project teams.
  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and company policies.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe, and hazard-free.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, earthworks, roadworks, trenching, lifting, and other site activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate records including logbooks, pre-starts, and operational reports.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions.
  • Operate equipment in a manner that minimizes damage, downtime, and environmental impact.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certifications/licenses.
  • Relevant PNG Class Driver's License.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Ability to pass site inductions and competency assessments.
  • Knowledge of PNG site safety standards and procedures preferred.
