Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the successful candidate will carry out carpentry works on-site in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and safety standards. The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures to support project delivery timelines and quality requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to determine job requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install timber and other materials
- Construct and install formwork, frameworks, structures, and fixtures
- Carry out repairs, maintenance, and modifications to existing structures
- Ensure all work is completed to required quality standards and project deadlines
- Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, and contractors on-site
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Comply with all site safety procedures, policies, and permit-to-work systems
- Report any hazards, incidents, or defects to the Supervisor immediately
QUALIFICATIONS
- Trade qualification in Carpentry (Certificate or equivalent preferred)
- Previous experience in construction or project-based environments
- Experience working on large-scale or industrial projects (advantageous)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in similar role
