Operator, Fire Truck

Job Purpose
Drive fire vehicle to the emergency scene, and operate fire and rescue apparatus to ensure adequate functioning of the equipped vehicle within the emergency responses, in line with the event leader directions.
Carry out daily inspection checks and conduct periodical performance testing of fire truck and its firefighting equipment to ensure their availability on demand
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
Emergency Response
• Keep approachable, alert and in standby condition to respond immediately to emergencies, in line with the in-charge instructions, and provide with appropriate recovery kit for different types of emergencies; fire, oil spill, failures, etc.
• Drive firefighting truck and other emergency response vehicles as instructed to the scene of fire, rescue and other areas.
• Operate fire truck pumps and other mechanical rescue equipment and accessories during emergency to ensure the needful support is provided to fire & rescue team.
• Drive fire truck and other emergency response vehicles to the scene of incidents and safety operate to fight fire and rescue personnel.
• Assist the fire & rescue team in providing first-aid services to injured personnel, and provide with transportation to hospital as required.
Equipment Readiness
• Carry out inspection and maintenance of all firefighting and fire suppression equipment located in fire trucks to ensure their availability for use on demand.
• Carry out tests and demonstration exercises on fire truck operation and firefighting and fire suppression equipment to ensure reliability.
• Carry out all the routine required tests of fire truck operation like fire pump test, monitors test of Foam/Water/ DCP system operation and notes the performance results.
• Assists in performing rescue operations from fires, vessels, pits, confined spaces, high elevations and drowning following company procedures and regulations.
Administrative
• Prepare, update and maintain all the records of fire truck in line with the Management Systems of HSE, Quality, or Company.
• Monitor the administrative documents of the vehicles and equipment; i.e. registration, licensing, etc. to ensure that validity and formality of vehicles.
• Participate in the HSE, Fire and other related events and activities to ensure providing the needful support; i.e. drills, trainings, road closure permits, etc. new operators for operation of fire truck
Daily Activities
• Undergo physical fitness training on daily and weekly basis to ensure the self-health and physical ability to carry out activities.
• Carry out basic maintenance of fire trucks and equipment; washes, hangs hoses, tank refill, etc. to sustain and ensure operability.
• Maintain the emergency response, firefighting and assigned equipment for HSE or plant, to ensure availability and operability all time; fire hoses, extinguishers, foam testing, reticulation system, breathing apparatus, resuscitation equipment, hydrants and isolation valves etc.
• Operate and refill the firefighting machines and equipment to ensure readiness; i.e. powder, CO2 and Nitrogen re-filling machines, etc. according to safe operating procedure.

Minimum Qualification
Technical Diploma in relevant field or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
• 4 years of experience in technical, fire occupations, and driving.
• Knowledge of facility topography, location of hydrants, operation of pumps, ladder, rescue, tanker and fire apparatus equipment.
• Knowledge on first-aid including CPR, basic assessment and causality handling
