We are currently looking, on behalf of one of our clients in the energy sector, for a Structural Steel Engineer based in Nanterre.
Structural Steel Engineer: What Will Be Your Missions and Responsibilities?
- Responsible for the design and sizing of Structural Steel Works for Oil & Gas or industrial projects (Pipe Racks / Process Structures / Truss Structures, etc.).
- Responsible for all structural calculations and the preparation of the associated Calculation Notes.
- Ensures the conceptual design principles of the main and secondary steel frameworks of these structures, as well as the sizing of structural steel elements.
- Also responsible for specific calculation cases such as the design of bolted and/or welded connections and fatigue calculations.
- Ensures proper coordination with the entire Team, as well as with other Disciplines.
- Participates in the validation of drawings produced by Drafting Teams and/or the approval of execution drawings prepared by the manufacturer.
What Profile and Skills Are Required for This Structural Steel Engineer Position?
- Proven experience as a Structural Steel Calculation Engineer:
- through strong know-how in industrial installations,
- knowledge of task sequencing,
- mastery of upstream and downstream interfaces.
- Ability to apply project procedures:
- regarding document workflow compliance,
- regarding strict application of task execution procedures.
- Ability to work in accordance with project standards, rules, and engineering instructions.
- Coordination with designers working on neighboring areas to manage inter-area interfaces.
- Continuous monitoring of project developments.
- Knowledge of task sequencing.
- Autonomy, rigor, organization, and proactive communication.
- Excellent knowledge of Eurocodes.
- Understanding of technical English (reading/comprehension of technical documents).
- Technical reporting to the Head of the Calculation Department.
