• Provide senior subject matter expertise in aerodynamics and fluid mechanics in support of advanced DoD
programs.
• Lead complex aerodynamic analysis, modeling, simulation, and test support for highly dynamic and unstable
flight systems.
• Apply expertise in boundary layer behavior, flow control, and unsteady aerodynamics to solve challenging
problems involving complex flight dynamics.
• Collaborate with government sponsors and multidisciplinary teams to support research, development, and
operational analysis tasks. Develop technical reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leadership and
mission stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: • Serve as aerodynamics subject matter expert for complex flight systems and research programs. • Develop and apply advanced aerodynamic models for unstable, tumbling, and high-rate rotational systems. • Conduct wind tunnel, flight test, and computational analysis activities. • Provide insight into coupling effects between mass properties, moments of inertia, and aerodynamic characteristics. • Support development of modeling and simulation tools for DoD applications. • Lead or support test campaigns and data analysis efforts. • Prepare and present technical briefings to government stakeholders. • Contribute to research publications and technical documentation as permitted by program constraints.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in aerodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Demonstrated experience with advanced aerodynamic research and complex flight systems.
• Experience supporting DoD, Navy, Air Force, NASA, or similar agencies.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools and aerodynamic analysis methods.
Desired Qualifications:
PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Experience with boundary layer flow control and dynamic roughness
concepts.
• Experience analyzing unstable and tumbling flight systems.
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals or conferences.
• Experience as PI or co-PI on major research programs
• Experience supporting classified or restricted research program
