Your Role: Own the Challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP Basis Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP Basis system administration and will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our SAP systems.

• SAP Basis System Administration & Performance Management: Manage and maintain SAP systems to ensure high availability and performance. Manage system performance, perform upgrades, and apply corrections and patches as needed. Oversee the transport management process to ensure smooth deployment of changes and maintain system stability.
• Monitoring of Systems, Interfaces, and Jobs: Regularly monitor system performance, interfaces, and scheduled jobs to ensure smooth operations. Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Ensure timely execution of critical batch jobs and alert management.
• ABAP Development: You will have ownership of all ABAP development activities across the organization and ensure that high-quality, standardized coding practices are consistently implemented across all development projects. You will manage and continuously update the ABAP Developer Handbook and actively utilize the SAP ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) as the central solution for code analysis, validation, and quality assurance. Additionally, you will monitor code quality and compliance with SAP standards across all projects.
  You will be responsible for Z-code adaptation and the migration of legacy systems to S/4HANA, including optimization of ABAP code for the new S/4HANA architecture. You will conduct performance tuning and refactoring of existing programs and ensure the modernization and future-proofing of all ABAP code.
• Security, Change Management & Team Collaboration: Monitor and manage SAP security to protect against unauthorized access and ensure compliance. Utilize Solution Manager (SolMan) for change management processes. Collaborate effectively with OS and database administrators to optimize SAP performance. Work effectively in global teams and maintain close cooperation with external providers.

What it takes to Run what runs the world

• At least 5 years of professional experience in SAP Basis administration combined with strong expertise in ABAP development and technical custom coding environments. Deep understanding of SAP system architectures, operations, and the interaction between SAP Basis and ABAP applications.
• Strong experience in coordinating, analyzing, and optimizing ABAP developments, including transport management, performance analysis, troubleshooting, and technical quality assurance of custom developments.
• Experience in S/4HANA transformation or migration projects, ideally with a focus on custom code management, ABAP code remediation, simplification items, and the adaptation of existing custom developments to S/4HANA standards.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP technologies and tools such as SAP NetWeaver, SAP Solution Manager, SAP HANA Studio, and ideally SAP Readiness Checks, ATC, SPAU/SPDD, and related migration and system analysis tools.
• Hands-on experience operating SAP landscapes on Unix/Linux and Windows environments, combined with solid knowledge of databases such as SAP HANA, SQL Server, and DB2, including database administration and performance optimization principles.
• Expertise in SAP system monitoring, backup and recovery strategies, security and authorization concepts, and performance tuning to ensure stable and secure SAP operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and proactive approach to identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex SAP and ABAP-related technical issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in international project and operations environments, collaborating with business stakeholders, development teams, and external service providers.

In accordance with the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry in Austria, the minimum salary for this position is € 65.000 gross per year (May 2025). There is a clear willingness to offer compensation above the collectively agreed minimum salary, depending on qualifications and experience.
