Your Role: Own the Challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as an IS Functional Specialist SAP PI. You will take ownership of critical SAP integration processes and system infrastructure, ensuring stable, high-performing and future-ready integration services across our landscape. In close collaboration with internal and external business partners, you will monitor, develop and enhance Information Systems functionality while actively contributing to transformation and migration initiatives. With a minimum of 5 years of SAP PI/PO experience, you will play a key role in ensuring reliability, innovation, and continuous improvement within a global, collaborative team environment.

IS Functionality & SAP PI/PO Operations Ownership: Take end-to-end responsibility for SAP PI/PO operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, system configuration and performance optimization. Ensure high availability and stability of integration services while managing upgrades, patches and technical issues in close alignment with infrastructure teams and business stakeholders.

Integration Development & Middleware Management: Manage and enhance middleware applications and drive the development of new integration processes. Design, build and maintain interfaces using SAP PI/PO tools including Integration Directory, ESR, adapters (sFTP, FTP(S), File, HTTP/S, SOAP, REST), mappings (graphical, XSLT, Java), UDFs and Groovy scripts, as well as EDIFACT and IDoc formats.

SAP Innovation & Migration Projects: Actively contribute to SAP PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite / SAP BTP migration initiatives. Evaluate emerging SAP technologies (SAP BTP, Integration Suite, API Management) and support the transition towards cloud-based integration architectures while building and sharing expertise within the team.

Stakeholder Management & Service Operations: Act as a key contact for internal and external partners. Manage Incident and Change Management processes via SAP Solution Manager (SolMan). Ensure smooth service operations in collaboration with OS and database teams, external providers, and global stakeholders.

What it takes to Run what runs the world
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SAP PI/PO, including deep operational and development expertise in SAP integration landscapes.
  • Strong understanding of SAP integration architecture and middleware components. Experience with SAP NetWeaver Administrator (NWA), System Landscape Directory (SLD), Integration Builder, SAP BTP Cockpit, SAP Integration Suite (CPI), and API Management.
  • Practical experience or strong exposure to SAP PI/PO to SAP BTP / Integration Suite migration projects. Understanding of hybrid integration scenarios and cloud-based architectures.
  • Solid experience in interface design and development including adapters, message mappings, Java/XSLT mappings, Groovy scripts, UDFs, and integration of standard formats such as IDoc and EDIFACT.
  • Strong skills in system monitoring, performance optimization, troubleshooting and ensuring high system availability in complex SAP landscapes.
  • Experience working with ITIL-based processes, especially Incident and Change Management using SAP Solution Manager (SolMan). Ability to ensure stable and controlled production operations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in global, cross-functional teams. Strong collaboration skills with internal stakeholders, external partners, and technical teams.
  • Fluent German (C1) and English (B2) language skills are required

In accordance with the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry in Austria, the minimum salary for this position is € 65.000 gross per year (May 2025). There is a clear willingness to offer compensation above the collectively agreed minimum salary, depending on qualifications and experience.
