The AGUP Phase 2 CPF-2 project is a major oil and gas development within TotalEnergies' GGIP program in Iraq's Basra region. The project involves the development of a new Central Processing Facility (CPF-2) designed to support production of approximately 210 kbopd from the Ratawi field, along with associated gas handling and integration with multiple large-scale energy infrastructure packages.
The CPF-2 Instrument Engineer will play a key role in ensuring safe, high-quality, and compliant delivery of all Instrumentation & Control (I&C) engineering activities within a complex EPC environment, coordinating across multiple disciplines and interfacing projects.

The CPF-2 Instrument Engineer will play a key role in ensuring safe, high-quality, and compliant delivery of all Instrumentation & Control (I&C) engineering activities within a complex EPC environment, coordinating across multiple disciplines and interfacing projects.
Job Description
- Oversee Instrumentation & Control (I&C) engineering activities for CPF-2 EPC package
- Review and approve contractor engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Monitor EPC contractor performance to ensure compliance with project scope, schedule, quality, and safety standards
- Manage technical queries, deviations, and design change requests related to I&C systems
- Ensure compliance with IEC, ISA, ISO, and company engineering standards
- Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Pipeline, Safety)
- Participate in HAZOP, SIL, SIF workshops and other safety studies
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), 3D model reviews, and project readiness reviews
- Review vendor documentation and resolve technical issues during procurement, fabrication, and commissioning
- Support procurement and construction teams on technical matters
- Contribute to risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Promote safe-by-design principles and continuous improvement practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Instrumentation & Control engineering in the oil & gas industry
- At least 5 years in a senior or lead engineering role within EPC projects
- Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC, ISA, ISO) and industry best practices
- Experience with instrumentation databases/tools (SPI, INTOOLS or equivalent)
- Proven experience working with EPC contractors and vendors in multicultural environments
- Participation in HAZOP, SIL studies, and safety-critical systems design
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
- Ability to manage technical interfaces across multiple engineering disciplines
- Fluency in English required; Arabic is an advantage
- Professional Engineer certification is a plus
