We are currently seeking a Head of HSE India Operating Center, to join our HSE team based in Noida (preferred), Mumbai, Chennai.

Reporting lines and interactions

Hierarchically reports to Global HSE Director / Operationally to India OC Managing Director.

Directly supervises the HSE team which can be spread around the globe.

  • Externally: Clients, authorities, residents

About the opportunity we offer:

Purpose
  • OC. Provide support to Sites, Projects, and Entities in order to optimize and align Technip Energies HSE standards.
  • Responsible for HSE Management System implementation and monitoring across all Technip Project Sites, Fabrication Yard at Dahej, and offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chennai.
  • He/she ensures the HSE excellence, HSE & Sustainability align with T.EN HSE Global Safety Standards ensuring no harm/accident or near miss with passion, innovation, sustainable development, effective systems implementation, risk-focused approach, and proactive engagement of all key stakeholders.
  • Drive digitalization (including AI) and improvement of HSE processes.

Job Role:
  • Develop a comprehensive local HSE strategy that meets contractual, statutory, regulatory, and Group requirements for the Operating center.
  • Pilot HSE at the Operating center and ensure all HSE risks are assessed and mitigated.
  • Define and manage HSE department budget, development, and resources, ensuring professional development and well-being of the HSE team.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to local Senior Management, Project Directors/Managers, and Project Teams on all HSE matters.
  • Coordinate processes, entities, projects, and site audits and inspections in accordance with local HSE Management system and Global requirements.
  • Ensure that a local HSE management system is in place and compliant with all relevant HSE standards (e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.),
  • Driver further digitalization processes
  • Work with Operating center processes to integrate HSE in all transversal processes.
  • Ensure the acquisition and/or renewal of HSE certifications as relevant.
  • Manage and develop the local HSE team (Methods, Systems, Programs and Operations, Projects, Analysis).
  • Support & Coach HSE teams on projects and sites (office, yards, and sites).
  • Ensure HSE coordination within India OC and associated operating centers: Reporting, HSE network, communication, Feedback from Sites / Op Centre, HSE Alert, Training, Group instructions etc.
  • Ensure HSE Tools and Procedures are implemented on Projects and Sites: Topset, Intelex, BBS, Pulse, Training, KPI, eKPI, ESG targets and requirements etc.
  • Liaise with other entities (Global, Operating Centers, Projects, and Sites) to share best Practices and Lessons learned.
  • Associate the Operating center HSE team in the Global initiatives.
  • Analyse HSE performances on Projects and Sites, propose improvements and action plans in order to minimize the number of incidents and environmental impacts.
  • Assist Entities and Projects in Accident investigation.
  • Promote HSE achievements within and outside India OC.
  • Assist the implementation of the Crisis Management System and business continuity management system within India OC.
  • Assist real estate and facility teams in determining the need for leasehold improvements and/or assist in determining appropriate move strategies taking into account T.ENs ESG commitments and scorecard.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Processes) or construction management with a focus on HSE and a minimum of 22 years of experience in HSE (technical and/or operational) or operational position with a strong drive for HSE, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Project execution experience.
  • OSHA 510 training for construction & OSHA 40 Hr. HAZWOPER training.

Must have:
  • Strong drive to be willing to develop personnel and ensure the well-being at work of the team;
  • Strong drive to lead change in the operating center: health and safety, environmental and climate change, and welfare programs.
  • Strong experience with Onshore EPC activities with robust knowledge of safe working practices.
  • Strong personal commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally sound workplace.
  • Extensive experience managing in culturally diverse environments.
  • Good communication skills and ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Understanding of technical HSE (P&ID, industrial safety, HAZOP, SIL, MOC process, etc);
  • Capacity to develop/write standards/procedures.
  • Ability to work as a team member/leader in a geographically diverse cross-function organization.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and mediate.
  • Significant prior experience working for an EPC or EPCM contractor is an asset.
  • Able/willing to travel worldwide.
  • Fluent in English
