The I&E Project Design Engineer is part of the Projects Design Engineering organization within the Chevron ENGINE center. This role provides instrumentation, controls, and electrical designs support to Chevron's Shale and Tight onshore assets and is responsible for supporting the analysis and development of I&E engineering solutions for brownfield and greenfield projects on Chevron's onshore facilities and infrastructure.

This role provides remote technical support in the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical power distribution systems, process control systems, instrumentation, and safety systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The engineer collaborates closely with Operations, Maintenance, Technical, Construction, and Project Management teams to develop engineering deliverables, manage technical risk, and deliver projects that meet business objectives while maintaining compliance with Company standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize Chevron and Industry Engineering Standards

• Support the design, troubleshooting, analysis and installation of electrical power distribution systems, distribution transformers, power cables, MCCs, control panels, VFDs, motors, PLC based control systems, field measurement instruments, communications systems (Modbus, TCP, Ethernet, Profinet, serial) and other oil & gas process equipment for small I&E capital and expense projects.

• Developing instrumentation, control, and electrical discipline deliverables (e.g. control philosophies, Cause and Effects diagrams, P&IDs, area classifications drawings, load analysis, electrical one-line diagrams)

• Support the management of change process for instrumentation, controls and electrical design packages and associated changes.

• Delivery of I&E engineering construction work package meeting the applicable instrument, control, and electrical specifications. This will require collaboration with Operations, Maintenance and Technical functions within Chevron's assets.

• Participating and contributing to safety reviews (PHA, HazOps, HazAn, LOPA, etc.), as applicable

• Managing multiple project deliverables concurrently

• Provide guidance for technical inquiries, issue technical recommendations, provide equipment and system troubleshooting, improve I&E Engineering tools and support the development and improvement of I&E Engineering work processes.

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years minimum on-site facility experience

• Bachelor's degree in instrumentation or electrical engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university

• Experience s pecif ying field instrumentation (pressure, level, flow transmitters)

• Experience with PLC based c ontrol system design , including C&E creation and PLC logic instruction

• E xperience with low voltage (<600V>

• Experience with work package creation for field installation

• Experience supporting HAZOP, PHA, MOC, and T ech n ical S afety processes.

• Familiarity with industry standards and recommended practices ( e x. NEC, NFPA, ISA, IEC, API, Company standards)

Preferred Qualifications

• 5-10 years of oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial facilities engineering experience as an Instrument and Electrical Design E ngineer.

• Experience executing greenfield and/or brownfield projects in onshore, upstream, oil and gas facilities

• Experience with power system modelling in ETAP .

• Experience supporting commissioning, startup, FAT, SAT, and operational readiness activities.
