IS Service Owner - IS Services for Grid Automation - ELDS

Location: Finland, Poland, Italy

The IS Domain Owner for Business Line Grid Automation is a strategic IT leader who supports business objectives of the business line. He/she partners with the business process owners, establishes governance, delivers projects, and shapes the end-to-end IT landscape. The person in this role ensures that IT platforms, applications, data, and integrations actively support the business line strategy, accelerate time-to-market, and enables operational excellence across engineering, manufacturing, sales and lifecycle management. By acting as the single accountable IT counterpart for the Grid Automation business line, the Domain Owner bridges business strategy and IT execution-turning product and automation ambitions into robust, scalable, and future-proof digital capabilities. The Domain Owner is responsible for Governance, Program Management, IT Service Management, stakeholder collaboration, performance monitoring, IS projects and operations delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary IT counterpart for Grid Automation business leaders, product management, R&D, operations, and service organizations; lead demand shaping and prioritization, focusing on high-value initiatives enabling growth, automation, and differentiation.
• Proactively identify opportunities to leverage IT systems to scale Grid Components volume, variants, and automation maturity; drive continuous improvement of service quality and user adoption.
• Own the IT domain vision and multi-year roadmap for BL Grid Automation, translating business strategy into clear IT capabilities, application roadmaps, and architectural evolution, aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Own governance for all projects, products, and IT services within the Grid Automation domain; oversee the end-to-end portfolio ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and in line with business goals; work closely with Project Managers, Solution Architects, and Application Owners to ensure smooth transition from project to operations.
• Own the application and service landscape supporting Grid Automation (e.g., engineering tools, configurators, MES touchpoints, analytics, lifecycle systems), ensuring agreed performance, scalability, security, and reliability targets.
• Ensure seamless integration across ERP, MES, engineering systems, and digital factory solutions; support IT/OT integration principles and partner with enterprise architects to evolve the domain architecture blueprint.
• Own and steer the domain BUILD and RUN budgets (OPEX & CAPEX); manage strategic vendors and implementation partners; support investment planning and provide input to IS Quarterly Reviews and Investment Boards.
• Lead and coordinate a virtual domain team (BAs, architects, service managers, operations, vendors); contribute to capability building in automation, data-driven operations, and digital product enablement.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in IT leadership roles spanning applications, architecture, or domain/service ownership in complex environments; proven experience in industrial, automation, engineering, or manufacturing domains (Grid, Power, Automation, or similar).
• Strong background in enterprise-scale IT landscapes (ERP, engineering systems, analytics, integrations); solid understanding of Grid Automation / Grid Components value chain, including engineering, production, sales configuration, and lifecycle support.
• Ability to translate business strategy into IT-enabled capabilities supporting growth and scalability; strong stakeholder management skills with senior business leaders.
• Proven experience in portfolio management, governance models, and demand management; comfortable operating at strategic and tactical levels with end-to-end accountability.
• Ability to influence without direct authority in a matrix organization; experience managing and coordinating virtual teams across different locations.
• Strong understanding of enterprise application ecosystems (SAP, engineering tools, MES, PLM-adjacent systems), integration patterns and data flows, IT/OT and digital manufacturing concepts; capable of steering architectural decisions.
• Experience managing budgets (OPEX & CAPEX), business cases, and vendor ecosystems; ability to balance cost, speed, quality, and long-term sustainability.
• Strategic, structured, and execution-focused; strong communication and storytelling skills to explain IT value in business language; proactive, resilient, and comfortable leading through complexity and change.
