JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Supervisor - Pipeline with extensive experience in the oil and Gas industry for ADNOC Onshore client to be based in Abu Dhabi within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business.
Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at onshore site in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The Role
To supervise and monitor all pipeline construction activities executed by EPC contractors, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, HSE requirements, quality procedures, and approved schedules. The role acts as the PMC representative at site to ensure safe and efficient execution of pipeline installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise pipeline construction activities including:
- ROW preparation
- Trenching and excavation
- Stringing and pipe laying
- Welding and NDT
- Coating and wrapping
- Lowering-in activities
- Backfilling and reinstatement
- Monitor contractor compliance with approved IFC drawings, method statements, and project procedures.
- Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with ADNOC specifications and international codes.
- Verify availability of materials, equipment, manpower, and permits before commencement of work.
- Conduct daily site inspections and monitor productivity.
- Enforce ADNOC HSE requirements and Life Saving Rules.
- Participate in toolbox talks, site safety walks, and risk assessments.
- Monitor implementation of PTW (Permit to Work) system.
- Ensure safe execution of lifting, excavation, hydrotesting, and tie-in activities.
- Report unsafe acts and conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with approved ITPs and QA/QC procedures.
- Witness pipeline welding, NDT, coating inspection, hydrotesting, and mechanical completion activities.
- Verify punch list closure before commissioning.
- Review construction records and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, HSE, survey, and commissioning teams.
- Attend construction progress meetings with EPC contractors.
- Resolve site construction issues and escalate critical concerns to PMC management.
- Coordinate tie-ins and shutdown activities with operations personnel.
- Monitor construction progress against approved schedules.
- Identify delays and recommend recovery actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction reports.
- Track construction KPIs and contractor performance.
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
- Minimum 10-15 years of pipeline construction experience in oil and gas projects.
- Minimum 5 years in a PMC or client representative role
- ADNOC onshore project experience preferred
- Strong Knowledfe of
- ASME B31.4/B31.8
- API standards
- ADNOC onshore specifications
- Pipeline welding and NDT requirements
- Hydrotesting and commissioning procedures.
