What organization will you join as an Environmental Studies Engineer?

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a recognized player in the fields of environmental consulting, land development, and engineering, for an Environmental Studies Engineer to support the growth of its activities on a wide range of high-value projects.

Environmental Studies Engineer

What will your missions and responsibilities be?

As part of the Environmental team, you will contribute to infrastructure, industrial, land development, and renewable energy projects, from the study phase through to regulatory compliance support.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting environmental regulatory studies (Environmental Impact Assessments, Water Law applications, environmental assessments, Industrial Environmental Permit (ICPE) files, etc.);
  • Analyzing environmental constraints and identifying regulatory requirements applicable to projects;
  • Coordinating various technical disciplines (ecology, hydrology, acoustics, air quality, landscape, etc.);
  • Preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation;
  • Contributing to the definition of Avoidance, Reduction, and Compensation (ERC) measures;
  • Participating in discussions with clients, authorities, and project stakeholders;
  • Monitoring environmental regulatory developments and ensuring compliance with current legislation;
  • Supporting Project Managers with the technical and administrative follow-up of studies.

What profile and skills are required for this Environmental Studies Engineer position?

Education

  • Engineering degree or Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Land Planning, Sustainable Development, or a related field.

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in an engineering consultancy, environmental consulting firm, or similar organization;
  • Experience in preparing environmental regulatory documentation is highly desirable.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of French environmental regulations and permitting processes;
  • Experience with Environmental Impact Assessments and associated regulatory procedures;
  • Excellent analytical, synthesis, and technical writing skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and ideally GIS software such as QGIS or ArcGIS;
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to work independently, with rigor and strong organizational skills.
