The Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting the sourcing and purchasing of technical goods and services required by the organization. The role ensures materials and services are procured from approved suppliers that meet operational demand, technical specifications, quality standards, and commercial requirements.

The successful candidate will possess strong procurement, supply chain, and supplier management expertise, particularly within the Oil & Gas industry. This role plays a critical part in maintaining an efficient supply chain, achieving cost savings targets, improving supplier performance, ensuring timely procurement execution, and supporting the successful delivery of products and services to internal and external customers.

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing procurement cycle times, driving on-time delivery (OTD) performance, maintaining Purchase Order (PO) accuracy and closure compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that maximize value for the business.

Responsibilities

Safety, Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with Weatherford's HSE, Quality, Security, Compliance, and procurement policies.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and support SOX compliance requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety, ethics, and continuous improvement.

Procurement & Supplier Management
  • Review purchase requisitions and source materials, equipment, and services in line with technical, quality, delivery, and commercial requirements.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, conduct competitive bidding, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
  • Utilize approved contracts, pricing agreements, and inventory redeployment opportunities to maximize value.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while supporting supplier performance reviews and contract negotiations.
  • Manage supplier non-conformances and drive corrective actions to resolution.

Purchase Order Management
  • Convert approved requisitions into Purchase Orders within established timelines.
  • Create, issue, amend, and monitor Purchase Orders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Track order status, supplier acknowledgements, and delivery commitments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate Purchase Order closure and maintain data integrity within ERP systems.

Supply Chain Performance
  • Monitor supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance and proactively resolve supply and delivery issues.
  • Utilize MRP/DRP planning tools to support operational and production requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure material availability while optimizing inventory levels.

Cost Savings & Continuous Improvement
  • Deliver procurement cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Support working capital improvement and inventory optimization initiatives.

Stakeholder & Source-to-Pay Support
  • Act as the key liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve procurement, invoicing, payment, and delivery-related issues.
  • Prepare procurement reports and support KPI tracking and performance reviews.


Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Procurement, Purchasing, and Supply Chain Management principles.
  • Solid understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Demand Requirements Planning (DRP).
  • Experience with supplier sourcing, evaluation, contract management, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of inventory optimization and material management processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using ERP systems, preferably Oracle JD Edwards (JDE).


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, Procurement, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Planning, Material Management, or Sourcing roles.
  • Experience within the Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing, Industrial Equipment, or Engineering Services sectors.
  • Experience in planning, purchasing, inventory optimization, and supplier management.
  • Working knowledge of procurement lifecycle processes and sourcing methodologies.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and procurement software.
