JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting directly to the Site Construction Coordinator, the role is responsible for carrying out site set-out, control surveys and as-built surveys to ensure works are completed accurately and in accordance with project specifications. The successful candidate will work closely with construction team, maintain accurate survey records, and support safe and efficient project delivery. Experience with Total Stations, GPS/GNSS equipment and interpreting engineering drawings is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct site surveys and establish survey control points and benchmarks.
  • Perform setting out of civil, structural, and construction works in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Verify dimensions, levels, coordinates, and alignments before and during construction activities.
  • Carry out as-built surveys and prepare survey reports and records.
  • Operate and maintain survey equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and automatic levels.
  • Assist engineering and construction teams with survey-related technical support.
  • Process survey data and prepare drawings, plans, and reports using relevant software.
  • Monitor construction works to ensure compliance with design tolerances and project specifications.
  • Identify and report discrepancies between site conditions and design documentation.
  • Maintain accurate survey records, field notes, and electronic survey data.
  • Ensure survey equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
  • Adhere to project HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices at all times.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, safety inspections, and project planning activities as required.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Relevant qualifications in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Vald registration with Association of Surveyors of PNG (ASPNG)
  • Demonstrated experience in construction, civil, infrastructure, or resource projects.
  • Proficiency in the use of Total Stations, GPS/GNSS systems, levels, and survey software.
  • Experience using survey data files
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in remote project locations and roster-based environments where required.
