The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HSE Supervisor to join our Iraq Business Unit.

This Project aims to take over the existing asset and maximize the production in 2 phases. This is a fast-track project and schedule-oriented Design to enhance the production.

The Phase 1 will restore, upgrade, and develop the current plant (CPF1) including: Restoration of initial CPF1 capacity; building a new export pipeline (24", ~30km); restoration of CPF1 integrity and operability; flaring elimination and released water; development of new flowlines, pads, and electrification network for approximately 30 new wells; debottlenecking of the plant; upgrade of the Safety and Security facilities.

Our scope is to provide Engineering, Procurement services and Construction assistance (EPsCa) for the initial development phase of the field in Southern Iraq. The scope of services includes FEED, detailed design, procurement support, and construction and commissioning assistance.

Job Purpose

The role will act as the frontline representative for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) on site, ensuring full compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices. The role requires strong visibility on site, proactive engagement with the workforce, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary HSE representative on-site, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
• Provide visible safety leadership through regular site inspections, daily walkdowns, and active engagement with the workforce.
• Enforce Life-Saving Rules and promote the use of Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions or behaviors are identified.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with HSE policies, procedures, and applicable legal requirements.
• Verify that Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems are properly implemented and adhered to at all times.
• Monitor and ensure contractor compliance with HSE requirements, standards, and procedures.

Expected:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of HSE experience in oil & gas projects, with a strong emphasis on upstream operations, infrastructure development, and brownfield modifications.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Proven experience in Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems and site safety enforcement.
• Recognized HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent).
• Ability to influence and engage workforce at all levels to promote a positive safety culture.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in enforcing compliance on-site.
