Your role and responsibilities

As Digitalization and IS Manager, member of local management team, you will lead the digitalisation and development of our business processes across the organisation. Working closely with managers and teams in all functions, you will identify where technology, data, automation, and AI can improve how we operate - making our ways of working faster, smarter, and more effective.

You will lead a team of IS professionals, oversee our local IS applications and infrastructure, and act as the key liaison with ABB Finland Country IS, Division IS and ABB Group IS - ensuring we build on group platforms and comply with group standards, particularly in information security, while retaining the agility to develop our local business.

This role is for a hands-on change leader who is as comfortable on the shop floor and in business conversations as in technology discussions. You will shape the digital roadmap and make it real.

Role location is Vaasa, Finland, and the work model is: hybrid, #LI-hybrid

This role is contributing to the Business Line Grid Components part of Electrification Distribution Solutions in Finland. Main stakeholders are local business leaders and IS leaders.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Leading end-to-end digitalisation and process development across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, sales, and support functions
• Driving automation, AI, and data initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and operational speed
• Building a data-driven organisation with strong analytics, reporting, and governance practices
• Defining and executing digital and IS strategy aligned with group standards and platforms
• Owning IS applications, infrastructure, and service delivery with full accountability for reliability, security, and cost
• Leading, developing, and growing a high-performing IS team focused on business value delivery
• Ensuring compliance with information security, regulatory requirements, and ABB Group standards

Qualifications for the role

• You have experience in digital transformation and process optimisation in industrial environments
• You have strong track record in applying automation, data, and AI to business improvement
• You have solid understanding of enterprise IT platforms (CQP, ERP, BI, cloud)
• You have 5+ years of experience in leading IS/IT teams and managing applications and infrastructure
• You are passionate about continues improvement
• You are at ease communicating in Finnish and English
• You have Masters/bachelor degree from a relevant field
