Energy Industries in Hungary

ABB Energy Industries enables safe, smart, and sustainable operations for customers across the oil & gas, chemicals, pharma, power generation, and water industries. By combining automation, electrification, and digital technologies, we help customers improve operational performance, efficiency, and sustainability across critical industrial processes.

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will lead the Process Automation - Energy Industries Division located in Budapest (Hungary), managing a $10M business unit with around 20 employees.

You will be responsible for leading the local Energy Industries business in Hungary across commercial activities, operational performance, people leadership, and business growth, in close collaboration with the Cluster and HUB organization. Reporting to the Local Division Manager for the Polish, Czech Republic, and Hungarian Cluster, you will play a key role in driving profitable growth and strengthening ABB's market presence in Hungary.

This role offers strong local ownership and visibility, combining commercial leadership, operational management, and customer engagement in a dynamic market. Your leadership will contribute to improving business performance, expanding customer relationships, and driving operational efficiency through automation and digital solutions aligned with ABB's commitment to smart, safe, and sustainable energy industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the execution of regional and global division strategy while providing local market insights and business inputs
• Driving profitable business growth and ensuring achievement of key financial and operational targets
• Ensuring strong financial management across Orders, Gross Profit, Revenue, OpEBITA, Cash, and NWC performance indicators
• Developing the local Automation market while expanding the drives, motors, measurement and analytics, and electrification business
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to ensure long-term satisfaction and business continuity
• Collaborating proactively with the HUB team and other Local Divisions to contribute to shared targets and regional success
• Driving productivity, delivery performance, and cost optimization initiatives across the business
• Improving operational performance across projects, services, and business processes to enhance quality and efficiency
• Building a strong local team by engaging, coaching, and motivating employees through transparent and inclusive leadership
• Reviewing organizational effectiveness, performing competence assessments, and continuously strengthening team capabilities in line with business needs
• Sharing best practices and lessons learned across the organization
• Living ABB's core values of safety and integrity by ensuring a safe, compliant, and ethical working environment

Qualifications:

• You have a proven track record in business development, strategic planning, and driving improvements in the Automation Solutions market
• You have more than 5 years of relevant managerial experience - preferably with Profit & Loss responsibility - within Automation Solutions businesses serving markets such as Water, Power Generation, Pharma, Chemical & Refining
• You possess leadership experience with responsibility for business performance, people management, and customer engagement
• You are strongly focused on customer needs, results, and quality, with solid experience in sales and business development
• You have a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Business Administration
• You have strong communication, influencing, coaching, and leadership skills, with a collaborative and multicultural approach
• You are fluent in English and speak native-level Hungarian
