Your role and responsibilities
Drive service sales in collaboration with the Service Sales Manager and/or Service Manager to generate opportunities and deliver profitable growth. Focus on installed base (IB) penetration and promote the full-Service product portfolio in partnership with ABB service units. Develop and execute account strategies that maximize share of wallet, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Build lasting customer relationships by leading sales activities, monitoring project progress, and resolving customer needs with speed and effectiveness.
The work model for the role is: Onsite, Abu Dhabi, UAE
This role is contributing to the Electrification Services in MEA region.

Your role and responsibilities
Drive service sales in collaboration with the Service Sales Manager and/or Service Manager to generate opportunities and deliver profitable growth. Focus on installed base (IB) penetration and promote the full-Service product portfolio in partnership with ABB service units. Develop and execute account strategies that maximize share of wallet, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role is contributing to the Electrification Services in MEA region.
You will be mainly accountable for
- Identifying your account needs and position Digital & Advisory Portfolio solutions which add value to the customer assets.
- Regularly update installed base in Service (the approved Service database) with the changes made at site.
- Generating opportunities leads to meeting the assigned sales targets.
- Utilizes IB database to understand the existing installed base (IB) and identifies and develops sales opportunities for Service products and solutions to penetrate the existing IB/new IBs in the market and promotes various upgrades, retrofit and value add solutions to the benefit of the customer and ABB.
- Focuses on the entire Service portfolio to secure profit for assigned Business/Product Groups.
- Own and implement electrification service (ELSE) sales strategies to ensure sustainable growth in orders and profitability (Future projections).
- Account and segment focus approach to position advanced services, replacements, retrofits & upgrades, installation and commissioning, service workshop offerings, spare parts, SLAs (Service level agreements), energy efficiency, digital solutions, customer training, etc.
- Ensure that all related activities meet legal and ethical compliance requirements and are in accordance with overall company policies & procedures are conducted with employee safety as a priority and are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Takes a One ABB approach to leverage other colleagues' portfolios.
- Establishes long-term relationships by understanding customer requirements and applicable regulations and demonstrating in-depth technical service product/solutions knowledge to promote Life Cycle Management (LCM).
- Registers customer feedback and ensures customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- Plans and performs the right number of weekly sales visits, reporting them on CRM.
- Ensure 95% accurate forecasting of orders.
- Understands the key business drivers, including significant and emerging business risks (e.g. Sustainability / Digital / Cyber Security) of the relevant global customer's business and business environment and interprets the impact and opportunity for ABB.
- Participates in the development of sales strategies for the account by providing the customer's current business and long-term plans.
- Leads the development and implementation of the account plan and SoW growth actions
Qualifications for the role:
- Electrical Engineering Background
- 10+ years of experience in service sales.
- Proven track record as a service sales engineer for switchgears and protection relays.
- Background in digital solutions is a plus
- Previous engagement and customer relationships with major government end-users entities and industrial customers in the region.
- Strong technical expertise in selling service agreements is a plus
- Strong English communication & Negotiation skills are a must
- Innovative mind and interest to explore new ideas and build strong relationships - excellent networking skills
- Out-of-the-box thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills
