Function Description

As Third Officer, you play an important role in the safe and efficient operation of our vessels. You support the Second Officer and Chief Officer in daily deck, bridge, port and cargo operations, while also taking responsibility for your own navigational watch. In this role, you help ensure that onboard activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in full compliance with international, flag state and port state regulations. You will be part of the onboard crew and report directly to the Chief Officer.

Your main tasks:

• Support the execution of deck operations and contribute to safe, efficient and cost effective port operations.
• Assist the crew with day-to-day deck activities to ensure smooth and effective vessel operations.
• Help ensure that operational objectives, legal requirements and client specifications are clearly understood and met.
• Assist in voyage planning and preparation to support safe, efficient and fuel-conscious voyages, including maintaining nautical publications and equipment.
• Take charge of a navigational watch and monitor compliance with safety and operational procedures.

Requirements

Requirements:

• You are either starting your career as a Third Officer or already have experience in a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of flag state and international maritime rules and regulations.
• Understanding of safe ship operations and onboard procedures.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office.
