Job Description

Job Title: Software Team Lead

Location: PuTC, Pune

Job Summary:

SLB is seeking a results-driven Software Team Lead to lead a high-performing engineering team. This role combines hands-on development (~50%), delivery ownership, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Execution

• Own end-to-end delivery, ensuring timelines, quality, and commitments
• Lead release/season planning with product and business stakeholders
• Identify risks, manage dependencies, and drive mitigation

Agile Leadership

• Drive sprint execution and agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
• Partner with/act as Scrum Master to ensure delivery efficiency
• Continuously improve team processes and prioritization

People Management

• Manage career development, performance reviews, and growth planning
• Oversee resource allocation, leave planning, and vendor management

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as the primary point of contact for team communication and escalations
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams
• Ensure transparency through regular updates

Technical Contribution

• Contribute significantly to coding, design, and code reviews
• Uphold standards for code quality, security, and performance

Required Qualifications:

Technical Expertise

• 5+ years of development experience in Java and/or Angular
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, coding best practices, and scalable systems
• 2+ years of experience in technical design and solutioning

Leadership & Communication

• Proven experience leading engineering teams
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

DevSecOps & Quality

• Experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
• Familiarity with tools like SonarQube, Mend, or similar

Modern Engineering

• Exposure to AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)

Strong understanding of secure coding and vulnerability management

Preferred Qualifications

• Agile/Scrum experience
• Oil & Gas domain exposure (E&P preferred)
• Ability to balance hands-on development and leadership
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
