Wood is recruiting for a Process Control Manager to take the lead on a major EPCM refinery project for a key client project in Si Racha, Chonburi in Thailand. This role is offered as an initial 12-month contract with the opportunity to continue as an ongoing, longer-term assignment and available for both Thai Nationals / Expatriates.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Manager - Process Engineering your immediate focus will be providing technical leadership across process control engineering and system testing on a major EPCM refinery project for a key client.
You will bring to life Woods three pillar strategy of Inspired Culture, Delivery Excellence and Profitable Growth on the project. You will drive technical excellence and assurance in Process Control portion while working in close partnership with other disciplines and the client, to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client and project.
In addition, you will:
- Demonstrated leadership ability to guide, mentor, motivate, and manage a team of Process Control Engineers, ensuring effective project execution and team development
- Extensive experience in DCS, IPS, and control system functional testing, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Dynamic Factory Testing (DFT), and Works Functional Testing (WFT)
- Lead the development and implementation of Process Control deliverables, including Control & Operating Philosophies, Cause and Effect Matrices, Process Control Narratives, Sequential Control Logic, Control Functions, Interlock Functions, Software Test Procedures, DCS Interlock Drawings, SIS Interlock Drawings, and overall control system requirements
- Oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and progress monitoring of process control application design activities across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with project objectives, schedules, and quality standards
- Collaborate closely with equipment suppliers, technology vendors, and cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless integration of process control solutions
- Serve as the primary interface with clients on process control matters, providing technical consultancy post-award, supporting the definition and refinement of user requirements, and ensuring solutions align with operational and business objectives
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety requirements, and best engineering practices in the design, testing, and commissioning of process control systems.
- Provide technical leadership during project lifecycle phases, including design, implementation, commissioning, startup support, and performance optimisation

Expected:
- You must hold (or be eligible to obtain) legal working rights in Thailand. If you already have Thai work rights or have a visa or work permit application in progress, we encourage you to apply.
- Suitably qualified with a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognised institution, you will have ideally held a similar Process Control leadership role on a major EPCM project within the Refinery, Petrochemical or Oil & Gas Processing sector supported by 20+ years working with a major contractors, operators or services companies.
- In addition, you will:
- Be a proactive, self-driven professional with excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, capable of fostering collaboration across multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
- Have demonstrated success in executing approved technical studies, engineering investigations, and advanced process control initiatives, coupled with hands-on experience utilizing industry-standard engineering software and digital tools
- Have proven ability to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence while ensuring alignment with project objectives, safety standards, and organisational values
- Have a proven commitment to driving client success through innovative, high-quality engineering solutions, underpinned by technical excellence, uncompromising integrity, a strong safety culture, and sustainable engineering best practices
- Have the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent, contributing to a high-performance culture that supports knowledge sharing, professional growth, and long-term business success.
