Deputy Site Manager
Vestas
The Special Projects department is responsible for Main Component Exchanges (MCE), the implementation of large-scale upgrade campaigns, and complex blade services across Vestas wind farms in the APAC region. Our department thrives on an open and informal culture, where teamwork, mutual support, and clear communication are the keys to our results. You will be part of a highly motivated, regional team of project managers, coordinators, AT supervisors and site managers working to the absolute highest safety and environmental standards. In this changing offshore and onshore environment, we collaborate closely to solve complex technical challenges, meet project targets, and directly contribute to a greener world with a global leader in wind energy.
Responsibilities
• Organizing, planning, and executing daily site activities (MCE, upgrades, and blade services) in offshore.
• Oversee daily operations, manage vessel mobilizations, and coordinate marine transfers in close alignment with our local Service team.
• Plan, deploy, and manage technical site teams, specialized tools, equipment, and spare parts consumption.
• Act as a key point of contact for daily alignment with customers, vessel owners, vessel crew, subcontractors, project team and marine teams.
• Maintain and update Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), ensure all technical project documentation is available, and assist the Project Manager with site budget forecasting.
• Enforce the highest standards of the Vestas Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Quality (QA/QC) management systems on-site.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3-5 years of operational or technical experience in the wind energy sector (onshore or offshore), with prior experience in a supervisory or deputy leadership capacity.
• Solid understanding of wind turbine components, heavy lifting campaigns, and mechanical/electrical installation or service procedures.
• Full GWO training package is expected.
Competencies
• A solid technical education or background with a solid understanding of processes related to wind turbine components or heavy marine industries.
Solid leadership and delegation capabilities, with a good foundational understanding of project finance and budget tracking.
• Highly motivated, and result-driven with an inclusive, international mindset with a deep respect for cultural diversity across APAC project sites.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required to collaborate across our international teams.
• Ready to complete or maintain training as required by the Role-Specific Training matrix (including GWO standards).
