The Mechanical Lifting Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing lifting operations safely and efficiently in support of operational requirements. The role ensures all lifting activities are carried out in full compliance with HSE standards, approved lifting plans, and applicable regulations, while minimizing operational risk and non-productive time.
Successful Position holders are excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well both independently and in a team.
Responsibilities
• Plan, supervise, and coordinate all lifting and rigging activities during operations.
• Develop, review, and approve lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Ensure all lifting operations comply with HSE standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Verify suitability, certification, and condition of lifting equipment and rigging gear.
• Lead and instruct lifting crews, ensuring clear communication and safe execution of tasks.
• Monitor lifting activities on-site and intervene when unsafe conditions or practices are observed.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings prior to lifting operations.
• Investigate lifting-related incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain accurate lifting reports and documentation.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and HSE teams to ensure seamless execution of lifting activities.
• Support lifting operations in onshore and offshore environments as required.
Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in lifting operations within oil & gas or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of lifting plans, rigging equipment, and load-handling procedures.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate lifting activities ensuring full compliance with HSE standards.
• Valid certifications such as LOLER or equivalent.
• Proven skills in risk assessment, planning, and execution of complex lifting operations.
• Ability to lead and instruct lifting crews, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
• Strong communication and reporting skills, including preparation of daily lifting reports.
• Proactive approach to identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
• Ability to work in offshore/onshore environments as required.
