Geosolutions Project Manager

Location: Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico

The Project Manager responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of projects. The core responsibility of the Project Manager in a Geosolutions Center lies on successful project execution, with a paramount focus on project profitability and client satisfaction as the main measures of project performance.

As project management is a critical strategic discipline, the project manager should as mentor the technical tasks of the team with his strong technical experience in seismic data processing.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Collaborate with a diverse team to provide a high-quality product according to the established schedule.
Has a complete understanding of the operations and financials of a Geosolutions Center and its core business. Is a competent geophysicist with broad knowledge who can understand the clients' objectives (geologic, commercial and technical) and can predict the characteristics of the available or potential data.
Proficient in Signal Processing and Velocity Model Building and Time and Depth Imaging & Creates project plans.
Maintains project objectives
Manages resources to make sure schedule and budget is on track
Monitors the project P&L benchmarked against baselines at all times and ensures it is visible to the management team.
•   Oversees project strategic plan, monitoring and adapting as needed

Monitors production and quality to customer/stakeholder/sponsor standards and identifies and resolves risks
Reports on project progress, offers viable solutions and opportunities as they arise
Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing project budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
Works with the Center Manager, Performance Lead and Client Lead to prepare recovery plans to address project performance when profitability is below desired levels.
Shares knowledge extensively, mentoring staff, and communicating with local and regional management.
Reviews bids and contracts for both technical pitfalls and new business opportunities

Skills:

• Advanced Project Management knowledge, with greater focus on: time, cost, scope, quality and resource management.

• Sufficient Financial knowledge to understand the Project Level P&L

• Omega and Petrel for seismic processing, SGD, SDM and reservoir characterization.

• Understands all the derivative metrics from these tools: People Utilization, Project Delay and financial performance, etc.

• Critical thinking and problem solving, Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities

Previous Experience and Competencies:

• Education: BSc degree in related science.

• Advantageous: Project Management specialization and certifications such as PMI PMP

• Experience: minimum of 5 years' experience in project management, seismic processing, geology/geophysics and working with energy companies.

• Skills: strong and balanced project management and seismic processing skills. Talented in combining business skills with technical evaluation.

• Candidate will be assigned to the Villahermosa SLB office

• Candidate must have authorization to work in the assigned location.

• Fluency in English.
