What type of organization will you join as a CAD Engineer (M/F)?

We are recruiting, on behalf of one of our pharmaceutical industry clients, a CAD Engineer (M/F) for a 6-month on-site assignment based in the Haute-Garonne department, France.

Mission context

The primary objective of this role is to manage, update, and maintain all engineering drawings and CAD documentation related to facilities, utilities, process systems, and infrastructure across a manufacturing site. The successful candidate will support the Facilities & Engineering (F&E) department to ensure compliance, data consistency, and the accuracy of CAD deliverables throughout the entire project lifecycle.

CAD Engineer (M/F) : What will be your roles and responsibilities?

As part of the Engineering team, your responsibilities will focus on four main areas:

CAD Management & Engineering Drawings
  • Create, modify, and maintain engineering drawings using Autodesk software.
  • Incorporate drawing updates resulting from engineering projects, Change Controls, maintenance activities, and on-site modifications.
  • Ensure CAD documentation complies with company standards and engineering best practices.


Engineering Project Support
  • Support engineering projects throughout the conceptual design, basic design, detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Develop and update Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment layouts, utility drawings, architectural drawings, and plant layouts.
  • Participate in design review meetings and provide CAD support throughout the project lifecycle.


Document Management & Data Control
  • Ensure proper archiving and accessibility of engineering documentation.
  • Manage CAD files, drawing templates, libraries, and drafting standards.
  • Verify consistency and alignment between field installations and engineering drawings.


Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of CAD standards and drafting procedures.
  • Support digitalization initiatives and BIM/CAD continuous improvement projects.


What profile and skills are required for this CAD Engineer (M/F) position?

Experience
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of successful experience as a CAD Engineer, CAD Designer, or Design Drafter.
  • Proven experience supporting engineering projects or large-scale capital investment (CapEx) projects.
  • Previous experience in a highly regulated industrial environment, such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, or fine chemicals, is highly desirable.


Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience with Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and/or Autodesk Forma would be a significant advantage.


Engineering Expertise
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering specifications, site layouts, P&IDs, and complex technical documentation.
  • Excellent knowledge of industrial drafting standards, document control processes, and version management systems.


Languages
  • Professional proficiency in both French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.


Soft Skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive, solution-driven mindset.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables.


Education
  • Technical diploma or Engineering degree (Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's equivalent) in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
