Short Description

The Cargo Supervisor oversees cargo handling operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant loading, unloading, transfer, and storage of cargo. The role coordinates with vessel crews, terminal personnel, and operational teams, monitors cargo activities, enforces safety standards, and supports the smooth execution of operations while minimizing risks and delays.

Function Description

  • The Cargo Supervisor is responsible for supervising cargo transfer operations and ensuring that loading, unloading, and custody transfer activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • The Cargo Supervisor monitors cargo operations, verifies transfer parameters and cargo quantities, maintains operational records, and coordinates with vessel personnel, surveyors, and terminal teams to ensure the safe and timely execution of cargo activities.
  • The position requires close collaboration with offshore and onshore teams to support operational continuity, compliance, and safe cargo handling practices.


Requirements

Essential
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in crude oil cargo operations on FPSOs, FSOs, tankers, or marine terminals.
  • Experience supervising cargo loading, unloading, and transfer operations.
  • Knowledge of custody transfer activities, cargo calculations, and tank management.
  • Experience coordinating with vessel crews, surveyors, and terminal personnel.
  • Familiarity with offshore safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and emergency response requirements.
  • Valid STCW Basic Safety Training (BST).
  • Valid Advanced Oil Tanker Cargo Operations certification.
  • Valid offshore medical certificate (OGUK, ENG1, or equivalent).
  • Valid BOSIET/FOET and HUET certification.

Preferred
  • Experience in FPSO or FSO operations.
  • Experience with tandem offloading operations.
  • Knowledge of cargo measurement and sampling procedures.
  • Previous offshore operations experience.
  • Additional training in cargo handling or tanker operations.

Skills
  • Safety-focused, organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Able to supervise personnel, coordinate activities, and communicate effectively with offshore and marine teams.
  • Good understanding of cargo transfer operations, cargo calculations, custody transfer, and operational procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard reporting systems.
